A bit technical and easy to lose your way on the trail as the "Bike Trail" blazes start becoming scarce.

Description

This loop is located within Bear Mountain State Park, which makes this a nice micro-bikepacking experience as you can camp within the park after your ride!

The loop leans on the Appalachian Trail at times so keep an eye out for hikers, joggers, pets, etc. In terms of wildlife, you'll see lots of deer, birds, and occasionally snakes. Expect rock gardens galore. The elevation is 923 feet total, so be prepared to climb or carry your bike at times.

The northern half is double track and the southern section seems more like single, with many roots and rocks on the south side. If you follow the direction of travel on the trail map you will have a challenging climb with the rocks and a very fast relatively smooth descent on the north side. Tough staying on the bike trail since it crosses other hiking trails multiple times. I plan on returning. 5 hours ago
