Trail is now closed before Grits Gone Wild and Field me. There is no access to Maplecrest Rd from that side.

Overview

A lollipop route from the south to enjoy the best downhills in Elm Ridge. You can do a loop at the bottom of the FUN loops but Dead End No More is an up-and-back unless you want to drop to the street and ride around to Peck Road.

Need to Know

You can park at the end of Hilltop Extension at the cul-de-sac or ride up from Rt 40.

Description

Park at the Hilltop Extension cul-de-sac in Maplecrest and enter on the north side of the road just above the cul-de-sac and follow the blue arrows up to the top of Elm Ridge.

You can do the long route down from midway using Run Noot, Levitate, Trail #6 and Gold Mine, then circle around the fun loops and climb back up. Then start the second downhill from the intersection of Levitate and West Gauntlet, taking a left at the first intersection to Big T and then a right at the next intersection through the "Dead End" sign.

The trails are again marked with blue arrows on State Land and be sure to follow them to the end (there is an unmarked trail that breaks off to the west that heads back toward Elm Ridge Road). Expect lots of features at the end.

Please note that Dead End No More is an out-and-back so please give way to downhill riders so that they can enjoy their ride.
