Description

This is a rare, easy singletrack in the Banff area on Tunnel Mountain. The trail skirts the north side of a large camping area on top of the Tunnel Bench (which is relatively flat). When you leave the campground area after about 2 miles, the trail passes near the edge of a steep drop-off above the Trans-Canada Highway. This stretch features great views across the Cascade River Valley with Cascade Mountain in the background. There are a couple places with exposure, but you can easily walk your bike if you have an issue with this.

At about 3.5 miles, the trail reaches a road. The more difficult, The Toe Trail continues straight. Turn right to continue on Tunnel Bench Loop and the Hoodoo Parking area. As you near the Hoodoo Parking area, the views of the Bow River valley are quite impressive.
