Trails are closed to bicycle and equestrian use from December 15th to April 15th.

Need to Know

This trail is primarily an equestrian trail though it is also open to mountain biking and hiking. Please expect and be respectful of other users. After the ride, the B & J service station in Newport has a decent selection of beer. Just down the road is The Jug dairy bar along the Ohio River offering ice cream and all the deep fried food you could dream of or just across the bridge in St. Marys, WV Station Pizza delivers up some killer pies!

Description

The Council Trail is easy to access from Kinderhook Cemetery with both ends of the trail connecting to the Campfire Trail close to the main trail entrance. This trail can be done in either direction, and with the exception of a few short sections, has minimal climbing. The trail is gentle and is a great beginner/intermediate option or a fun way to add some extra miles to a bigger ride!
