This is great back country singletrack riding. Can be very technical and steep at times. Make sure to pack plenty of food and water.
Trail is on National Forest, please be mindful of hunting seasons from October to January.
You park right off of Bethel Road. You start up a steep doubletrack climb to get up to the beautiful blue ridge parkway. Once to the parkway you ride up it for a couple miles then you bear off to the left to get to the top of the Dody Ridge downhill. This is a very technical fast downhill with optional drops and other features. Once to the bottom you are on a gravel access road just for a short stint before you head up a couple of climbs with fun singletrack downhill to follow. After that you have a long, grueling but manageable climb back up to the parkway. You hit the pavement and head up the parkway for a few miles until you hit the Spec Mines Trail
downhill. This is a super fast, fun, flowy downhill which I think is the best part of the ride! When you hit the bottom you hit some easy gravel roads back to where you parked. Enjoy this is a fun one with amazing views!
