A circle route which is well-marked as the red route on the JAVA Trail and JAVA Red Route Connector. Remember to follow the Klipspringer and Ostrich routes to complete your singletrack experience. This one is perfect for the whole family (+10 years-old recommended).

Start this ride at Van Loveren and just around the back of the wine cellar is the first notice for the Black, Blue, and Red routes. Cross the bridge to the right, and another low water bridge and just follow the markings for the red route. You'll see vineyards on the left and on the right.

Ride on before a left turn into the veld on a slight uphill jeep track, to the point where you chit chat slows down on the climb. Yes, this is the first burner, but the legs are warm so just get out of the saddle. Then head to the left for a slight down gaining some speed. Keep your momentum as the next ascent is up ahead - no walking allowed!

You are now surrounded by nature, slow down and breath it all in. Head past the small dam and ruined building. Look for a choice to take the "Klipspringer" route and do it for some splendid singletrack!

Exiting back onto the Red Route again, turn left at the "intersection" (this is where the Blue and Black routes turn to the right and the Red to the left). You are halfway!

Now for some more fun; look for the "Ostrich" turnoff to the right, twisting up and down, with some rocky sections, but lots of fun. This brings you back to Red, which carefully takes you home. The last stretch is along the river on the left...go slow and enjoy.
