“Fast and flowy, steep and techy... a splendid loop of Santa Fe singletrack.”
— Kelley Hale
This trail is on Glorieta Camps land. There is no public access June 3 - August 11. Riders must sign a waiver and get a wristband at the front office before riding.
Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm; weekend office hours vary.
Riders will enjoy a nice view from the lookout tower at the top, great singletrack, and a chance to sample the previous year's Big Mountain Enduro course.
From the back of the RV park at Glorieta, Ghost Town
begins with a casual pedal up the drainage. Plenty of shade, a mellow grade, and beautiful mountain scenery make this a pleasant trail to climb... for now. A few miles up, you'll come to a meadow containing the ruins of old wooden structures, the "!Ghost Town."
Not long after passing this meadow, you'll come to the first very steep section of trail. Get ready to push your bike! Very steep and challenging pitches are broken up by a few flattish sections, but it's mostly too steep to ride until you reach the junction with the Glorieta Baldy Road (375)
, an unpaved 4x4 road. Go left here and continue climbing.
After approximately 0.5 miles of climbing along Glorieta Baldy Road (375)
, you'll reach the Glorieta Baldy Lookout Tower Historic Site. At this point, you should see two singletrack trails; to the right is Secret Trail
and to the left is Broken Arrow
. Go left down Broken Arrow
, and enjoy the descent. The trail switchbacks down loose and steep terrain, then becomes flatter in the middle, and finishes with some rock garden fun before reaching the parking lot where you started.
