This furthest section of the Marl Lake Trail System breaks off from Loop B (Red Trail) and continues in a generally northern direction. At the far point, there is a short spur that will take you out to the Cut River. The Cut River connects Higgins Lake and Houghton Lake.
From the far point, you'll head back through the forest and meet up again with the second half of Loop B (Red Trail) and eventually on to Loop A (Green Trail), which takes you back to the trailhead.
Moderately steep. Uneven terrain with small rocks or roots.
Sizable rocks & roots. Steep sections.
Steep. Some technical terrain and limited alternate lines.
Very steep. Technical terrain with no alternate lines.
