“Flat dusty trail through the middle of the Everglades.”
— Phil Reyes
Family Friendly: Opportunities to see wildlife up close.
Get close to nature with this super easy trail through the Everglades. It's very simple to access the trailhead, where Atlantic Boulevard intersects with the Sawgrass Expressway. Lots of parking.
The trail itself is actually part of a larger loop that I didn't finish the day I went. The part I was on was well-maintained. There were countless opportunities to see gators, birds, snakes, turtles, etc. There is nothing technical about it but if distance and quietness is what you want, this suffices. It got a little boring at times but it's good exercise nonetheless.
I'd never do this trail in the summertime!
