“Dirt jumps and mtb trails on The campus of UNCC.”
— Matt Wilcox
The fruit trails are locally built dirt jumps and mtb trails located on the corner of uncc near Harris blvd. to get there, park in lot 27 and ride along the road towards Harris blvd, once over the bridge keep an eye out for a dirt trail into the woods along the left-hand side. Travel along the trail and over the makeshift bridge (safe to cross as of 11/21/2017). Once across the bridge, you're there!
There are two main sides of the fruit trails. from the bottom of the hill, once across the bridge, following the trail up to the right leads you to the easier side with tons of jumps and wooden features ranging from beginner to expert. The easier jumps on this side are at the top of the hill, progressively getting larger as you go down. From the top, there are many different routes you can take, many of which can be mixed and matched to suit the rider's style and skill level. The opposite side of the fruit trails can be accessed by hanging a left at the bottom of the hill after you cross over the bridge. The left side is geared more towards dirt jumping with jumps ranging from moderate to extreme. In total, both sides of the fruit trails have 50+ jumps and wooden features.
The Fruit Trails are about 10 years old and are beginning to show signs of the lack of maintenance in recent years. They are by far the best jumps of their kind in the Charlotte area, and with the help of the community can be made even better. All the original tools are kept on the right side of the hill either tucked away behind rocks on the far right side by the drop-off or spread out throughout the jumps. Thos who ride are expected to help out by raking the route or building up jumps, but please leave the tools where you found them.
