Description

Designated as Kachina Vista Municipal Park in 2017, this is a historic road that crosses old mine workings and leads to genuinely epic views of Taos Ski Valley's iconic summit peak. The road itself is a fairly easy ride as it climbs to about 10,000'. At the top, it joins the main village road going to the Bavarian.

There is parking in the main lot for the Bull of the Woods Trail and Twining Campground and a couple spaces by the gate which marks the entrance to the park. Drive or ride up Twining Road, turn left onto the Phoenix Switchback Road and then right onto Kachina Road. The park gate is a couple hundred meters further.
