This mostly old doubletrack loop encompasses the cooler and wetter side of Antoine Peak. Stay right after about half a mile at the first fork after the trailhead sign to travel by Leland Pond, a small wetland.

The first few miles of trail climb steadily through dark forests with open viewpoints of the valley below scattered throughout. Eventually, you'll come to the signed junction with Antoine's Summit Trail where the trail continues as singletrack to the left. The descent along the open ridge is steeper here.

Keep an eye out for the trail to soon hang a hard left, followed shortly by a hard right that can be easy to miss (you'll know soon enough if you missed the turn). Bomb (cautiously) down the rest of the relatively new singletrack built by the Washington Trails Association.

This is another good cross-country loop in the up and coming Antoine Peak Conservation Area. The trail is non-technical aside from some moderately washed out sections, but offers good aerobic opportunities, relative solitude, nice views, and lots of nature all close to town.
