Description

You can park near Stove Prairie School at the stop sign (the intersection of Stove Prairie Road & Rist Canyon Road), or drive ~three miles west from Stove Prairie Road along Old Flowers Road to the National Forest boundary and park. The ride has some challenging uphill grades and fun downhills. The scenery is beautiful through the regrowth of the 2012 High Park Fire. Ample campsites are situated along the way, making this a good option for bikepackers looking to do an overnight.

This is a commonly used 4x4 trail (which I’ve driven several times), but it’s also a neat bike trail. Especially if you’re tired of everything else local and want to get in some good off-road training miles and vert. It’s not a techy singletrack MTB heaven, but it’s quiet and still a solid workout. It’s a bit loose and steep in spots. Great views, beautiful forest. Jun 17, 2018
