Description

This trail can certainly be ridden uphill, but it's heavily eroded in spots and riding up La Cueva Canyon Trail #492, connecting to Ojito Maes #182: La Cueva Peak Section then down this route may be preferable.

Below the lake plateau, the rock and roots festival begins. It's good fun for the more experienced rider with a full-suspension bike. There are many small mud holes, but these can be bypassed. Near the valley, there is an overlook of La Junta Canyon.

The trail ends at FR76 where there is a parking area. The area is open from late spring through fall.
