Description
This trail climbs from Neal's Run Road up to Seven Springs. It was part of the 24 Hour Race Route, hence the name used here.
If you are coming up Neal's Run Road, you'll see the trail (doubletrack at this point) crossing the road and heading up to the south. To reach this point, you could park in Champion and ride up on the roads, or park at the resort and ride down on the
24 Hour Race Descent. The trail can also be ridden in the opposite direction in which case you would pick up the trail near the junction of Airport Road and Pritts Distillery Road and descend to Neal's Run Road junction.
Heading up, the start is actually very rough doubletrack. It then moves on to some sweet singletrack accessed by a branch to the right followed, after a short bit, by a sharp left up an evident singletrack. For the next bit, take the singletrack option whenever there is a choice. There is a burnt-out moto trail coursing through here that is worth avoiding. Staying to the right at one branch point avoids a steep, (nearly) unrideable section up the moto trail to the top near the lake.
Instead, continue to the right, again looking for a singletrack on your left. Take it and you'll find yourself climbing some nicely laid in and challenging switchbacks (challenging because it gets steep at points). When you top out, you'll meet the
Airport Island trail. A right here takes you to the Airport Road network of trails. A left takes you to the upper parts of Seven Springs Resort and past the junction of Airport Road and Pritts Distillery Road.
