The Front Range's best high country descent.

Matt Thoele

Overview

Please be respectful of the neighborhood! Pick up trash, watch your speed, be mindful of where you park, etc.

Description

This is a high-speed 3000-ft descent right in the Front Range. You can either climb or shuttle Little Bear Creek Road to Echo Mountain ski resort (please be respectful while driving). The entrance is hard to see from the road, so look for a bent highway marker right next to the entrance.

This is a 100% legal Forest Service trail that is multi-use. Mountain bikers are 100% allowed on this trail. Sometimes the locals will post fake signs at the top or block the easement to the lower section of the trail.

The trail is high speed rocks with good sight lines. Enjoy!

This trail stinks, you're better off going to Apex and walking your bike down the gut with everyone else who doesn't belong on that trail. Sep 13, 2017

Rode this trail yesterday for the first time. It was fun and I am glad that I rode it, I happened to be in the area with my bike but I will say it's Not worth making a special trip out there. It had a few fun rock hits but Unless you're on a mission of hitting a straight stretch at mach 10 into a flat corner, then repeating this for 5 miles, go else were with flow. Dec 13, 2017
