Update

An old jeep road that sits atop a ridge.

Phil Lucero

Overview

Description

This old road is hard to find as it appears out of nowhere if you don't know where to look. When you are at Aspen Ranch parking area, which is the midway point between Upper Rio En Medio #163 and Lower Rio en Medio #163, you'll need to seek out an old barbwire gate at the southwest end of the parking area. Go through the gate and walk up the hill through the scrubrush a bit. To the northwest, you'll see the remnants of an old road emerge.

As a stand alone ride, this road is not noteworthy in any way other than it is in a beautiful aspen forest. If anything, it would make a better hike. The road has many big bumps built into it. This road is primarily taken to access the Mineral Trail, which connects to the Pacheco Canyon Road #102 to the south.
