Description

The first mile from the ranger station is mostly flat and rocky with twists and turns. Once you come to the fence it is a different story, the trail is steep with larger rocks and switchbacks as it descends to the fish hatchery along an old mining road. There are some technical features and a couple tight turns to watch for, then the trail becomes narrower with loose dirt and gravel before dropping onto the footpath along the Red River.
