The Green Trail primarily serves as the connector loop that ties all of the other trails together. There are no signs marking the shortcuts to specific trails or obstacles, so you need to know ahead of time where you are going if you try to use this connector loop as a shortcut. Otherwise, just follow the main routes and main signs which will lead you from one section to the next along a mix of trails and road sections.
