Very fun loop around the lake. Some punchy climbs mixed into an overall fairly flowy trail. Great stuff for the area and totally worth the drive!

There's a gun range right by the trail on the Southeast side, so don't freak out when you hear gunshots. Oct 4, 2018

I wanted to add that it is very hard to find the trailhead from the parking lot. A more detailed map would be helpful. Once on the trail, they did a pretty good job of signing all the mountain bike paths (the trail crosses over the hiking paths several times). When in doubt, Look for the orange/red spray paint on trees and you will know you are on the mountain bike trail. Creek crossings and mud might make this a more suitable ride for a plus or fat bike. The hills are killer on this trail. By the time I would get up to some DH flow I was so exasperated that I more or less rolled downhill. About a mile in my chest was on fire. Jennifer is spot on below that the trail is for riders with experience and high fitness level. Right now it's not fun for me but I hope in a few years it will be. I'm a few months into this hobby, from what I understand the trail is rather new, too. On my 2nd time out I broke my chain trying on the outbound edge of a small ravine that could probably benefit from another little bridge. Hopefully little things like this are added over time to increase the flow. It's difficult trying to battle all the cricks when you're already worn down from fighting the uphill. There's not much that can be done for the hills though, aside from increase one's own endurance!! Nov 19, 2018
