Description

This trail opens up loads of options.

1. You can set up a shuttle and park one car at the Wild Oak parking lot (bottom) and carry the bikes to the top and start on Reddish Knob.

2. You can park at the Wild Oak parking lot and ride across Tillman Road and up to the top of Reddish Knob the "traditional" way on the road.

3. You can park at Wild Oak's lot and ride across Tillman and then UP Wold and Timber Ridge Reddish Knob trails. If riding up these trails, be aware the section between the Lynn and Hearthstone intersections is VERY steep hike-a-bike.

Starting from where Timber Ridge Trail (431) starts on Reddish Knob, ride down the paved road to the first intersection with Reddish Knob Road (FSR #85) and turn left. It's only about 300-400 yards downhill to this intersection. FSR #85 is a gravel road and is a fast downhill spin. After a mile or so, take the first left onto Bald Mountain Road (FSR #427). It is gated.

Here is where the fun really begins. This is a fun downhill with water bars that are perfect for catching some big air. After the downhill, there is a fair amount of climbing to do, but it is across a beautiful ridge that goes between forest and beautiful open meadows. When you get to a big clearing, you'll see the signs for the Wild Oak N.R.T. (716) on the left... now the real downhill begins!
