Description

The Rhenen Trail is one of several routes in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug trail system. The 4.0-mile purpose-built biking trail is well-maintained.

Rhenen is short, but SO fun! It has the flowiest downhill sections that just weave through little old drainages and the woods as you make your way down the ancient glacier moraine, and then climb up again. The main climb is pretty gentle but somewhat long by Dutch standards.

Since the lap is fairly short, you can choose to do it several times (and as many riders have noted, it never gets boring), or combine it with the nearby (and a little more challenging) Kwintelooijen Rhenen or ride over to the Amerongen Trail and Leersum Trail.

The trail intersects with a road twice and some non-busy walking trails; please pay attention there.
