I haven't ridden this stretch through but have done pieces and hike here occasionally. This is the heart of the Hayden Pass Fire burn scar from 2016. From Hayden Creek the climb is very eroded and rocky from runoff after the fire. Bare, burnt ground allowed runoff from an active monsoon season and left other sections quite rocky. The area north of Lake Creek is generally more rocky than flowy Sep 20, 2017
I rode the beginning of that trail end of June 2018. At About 5.4km in, there is no path crossing mosher creek. Many fallen trees and a lot of erosion since the fire a couple years ago. I didn't have a map so I couldn't find the trail on the other side... Some other parts of the trail suffered. Around 3kmish, the path is literally a rut filled with big rocks. (Harder than blue).
