Overview

Description

From Morzine, take the Pléney Bubble Lift to the start of this segment.

This short segment is mostly singletrack and has the greatest all mountain/downhill feel among those comprising the Portes du Soleil (Gateway to the Sun) circuit.

From the top of the lift, turn right along the road and then after 0.1 miles take the obvious switchbacking singletrack that parallels the road. Turn left onto the road again and take another singletrack to the right after another 0.1 miles. After a short distance, this singletrack crosses the road and then continues gently downhill for a mile or so, passing initially through a forest.

Once you cross another road above the hamlet of Les Folliets, the descent becomes significantly steeper. Initially, it is straight, but as you near the lift line, the route begins to merge with one of the downhill tracks around Les Gets bikepark. You'll likely find yourself surrounded by armor-clad riders, but don't let that scare you - this route is not that difficult. There is a fun section of bermed switchbacks near the bottom to look forward to.

To continue on the next segment (PdS: Les Gets to Morzine), take the Chavannes lift when you reach the bottom.
