“A beautiful route through woodlands that has plenty of places to stop along the way.”
— Leslie Kehmeier
The Buffalo River State Trail connects Fairchild and Mondovi along a scenic stretch of US 10 through central Wisconsin. The route closely follows the Buffalo River, a winding waterway obscured by the landscape of dense woodlands, hills and wetlands.
The trail gets its name from when the region was once home to a large population of bison. Today, the route has a lot of small town charm with many locations along the way to stop and visit.
