This trail circles the Bennington Lake area. The lake is used for flood control purposes, so sometimes it is empty in the winter. In the spring it is partially filled and stocked with fish. The trail is gravel and dirt. It is popular with local families also, so riders should be aware of other users. Dogs are allowed to be off-leash, but should be under the owner's control. Pack some water, as the only place to get water is near the parking area on the east side of the lake.
The trail connects to other trails that run along Mill Creek (Meadowlark Trail) to the north. Riders can make this ride longer by using the numerous spur trails that interconnect this trail with other undeveloped trails. Hunting (shotgun and archery) is allowed during the fall/winter, so riders should wear bright colors. Access by vehicles is from Tausick Street to Reservoir Road. Access by bike can be made from Reservoir Road or from Rooks Park to the north.
