A great balance of beach riding and gravel grinding country roads! The beach route offers amazing beach views with many points to stop and take pictures. The people are beyond generous and will literally give you the shirts off their backs. Local restaurants are inexpensive ($4) for a typical dish and water is abundant and potable in all stores/homes.

The route is a pretty nice balance between beach cruises and gravel grinding meandering country roads through the hills. Days can be very hot past noon so start the mornings early before the sun comes up.

There is a decent mix of climbs as the route is always undulating through the foothills but there was only one big mountain that was a doozy. Beach camping is free at almost all beaches, Playa Chameronal is the only beach you cannot camp on.

Stop at local Soda restaurants and indulge in some typical Costa Rican cuisine for a very affordable price. This trip was very inexpensive. Water is a must and pretty accessible, all you have to do is ask. Look out for turtles!
