Description

Latham Road is a forest road in the Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area. It's useful for connecting the Frady Branch and Lake Russell Trail systems to make some really long rides.

From the Frady Branch Trail System, follow Latham Road (FSR #87C) to a left on Sellers Road (FSR #193) to right on Guard Camp Road (FSR #87) which becomes Nancy Town Lake Road (FSR #92).

Particularly in the 0.5 miles closest to the Frady Branch Trail System, it is generous to call this a road and the trail has more of a singletrack character through the pine forest. Beyond that, it opens up into a dirt/gravel road.

It's named after the Latham family who inhabited the area before it was taken over by the federal government in the 1930's.

Some of the connecting roads are covered in loose gravel/crusher run. Maintaining traction without spinning out is difficult.
