“This trail features back-and-forth, flowing sections that go down and back up with some optional obstacles and jumps.”
— Matt To
No night riding. One directional (as shown). Hiking and biking welcome. This trail is for winter-use only when snow-covered.
Family Friendly: The Fort Wayne children's zoo is right next to this trail!!
Christmas Trail is named as such because of its tree looking figure laying on its side when looking at a topographical map. The trail is a designed as a set of back and forth dips with obstacles and turns throughout. Toward the front half of the trail, there are two large jumps that you can clear if you have enough speed. Great air time!
The back half of the trail gets tricky with root and rock formations to conquer. This is a really fun section of the Franke Park Trail System and they recently added an advanced/expert section at the end of Christmas Trail. There are multiple fallen trees that have been shaved on top that form a bridge to ride on. Take a shot if you have good balance! This section is not clearly marked yet, but you can see a fallen tree to the left of the main trail. That tree has a small ramp leading up to it and is the start of the advanced section.
Christmas Trail ends back at the creek crossing.
