Family Friendly This is an easy, flat ride in the valley between mountain ranges. You'll have the chance to enjoy the scenery without a lot of climbing.

Description

The multi-use trail runs from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, site of the 1936 Winter Olympics and also of a small US military base, to the outskirts of the nearby town of Grainau.

Part of the route is open to agricultural traffic as it runs along farmland at the base of the Zugspitze, which is the highest mountain in Germany at 2962 m (9718 ft).

For an even better view, continue through Grainau along Zugspitzestraße (Zugspitz Street) and the Grainau to Eibsee trail to the Eibsee Seilbahn (Cable Car) which takes you to the summit (you'll have to park your bike at the base of the cable car).
