Description

The top of Bonnie and Clyde's begins at an unmarked intersection off of Sidewinder and descends away through a couple of switchbacks (check your speed for the second turn, which is tight and exposed). From there, the trail cuts down across a steep sidehill along a narrow bench.

The descending soon comes to an end as Bonnie and Clyde's switches to a rolling climb. Look for a tight spot formed by a rock slab and tree if you're traveling with a dog. Most of the year, there is a small seep at the base of the rock that will help keep Fido hydrated. Continuing on, the pedaling is easy and the surrounding trees, salal, ferns, and occasional rock slab create a particularly pretty scene in this section of the park.

Ahead, keep straight at the top of a slight rise where a number of hiker-only trails intersect. Just around the corner, riders will encounter a rusted car that trailbuilders discovered, along with an old safe further downhill. A little narrative license and this dilapidated scene became the inspiration for the name of the trail.

Bonnie and Clyde's continues to traverse along rolling terrain for another quarter mile before it turns to follow a small ridge to the south. This is where the trail really shines and riders will enjoy the large turns and playful singletrack that bobs and weaves down to a finish at the mid-mountain parking area.
