Middle Mountain Loop is at the heart of the GUTS trail system. The "terraced stacked loop" design of this trail complex is readily visible here. Trails are densely packed and twist/fold back on each other as they traverse the grade in order to climb up and around the mountainside.
This trail is fun in both directions, with stacked 3-way intersections establishing the natural CW and CCW directionality.
Strava users take note: these multi-use recreational trails are frequently less than 20' lateral separation - so your recreational GPS devices recording in 1 second intervals with 3 meter accuracy inevitably will provide fickle data under the dense forest canopy. Please do not straighten the trail or deviate from the purpose built trail.
