Summit trail takes you to the top of South Uncanoonuc mountain.
Start at the parking lot just south of Uncanoonuc Lake, and head west along the lake. The trail will soon turn into the woods. Follow the signs to the left for Bickford/Summit trails. You'll then encounter another fork; if you continue straight you'll keep going on Bickford Trail
, but for our purposes, head left and up the (incredibly steep) Summit Trail.
Summit is mainly comprised of a largish double/singletrack that is mostly a steep, unforgiving climb. While many sections are doable on a bike, some of them are impossible, and the steep sections that are doable will still require lungs and skill. There are some techy rocks/roots to be had in addition to the incline, so be prepared for a suffer fest to the top of this one.
You'll encounter a few intersections along the way; the Link Trail
will come in on your right a little less than halfway up. Then there will be the Walker trail, which is not accessible by bike, on your left a little further on. Just before you cross Summit Road, you'll seen an unnamed trail coming in on the right. Cross the road and stay to the right and you'll hit the end of the trail at Crescent Lane.
