Description

A fun doubletrack section of trail, the Bickford Trail starts at a small parking lot just on the south side of Uncanoonuc Lake.

The trail itself runs next to the lake for a minute, then heads into the woods. You'll come upon a fork fairly quickly, and will notice the sign to keep left for Bickford/Summit trails.

Head left and start to climb. You'll shortly run into another intersection where you can either stay straight for Bickford or head up left for Summit. Summit is quite steep and technically challenging. Near the end of Bickford, you'll see an unnamed trail to the left; this heads up on some switchbacks and is quite fun and challenging as well; this will eventually meet up with the Link Trail.

Bickford has some ups and downs, and there are some steep sections and some technical rocks to be had. You'll end up under the power lines in the swath of clear-cut. Enjoy!
