Watch for 2-way traffic on this mostly smooth, dirt track with nicely bermed switchbacks and just a few small areas of smooth, exposed bedrock. There are some significant elevation changes just below Skyline Parkway (paved road), but they are not too difficult to climb.
This segment is not as deeply shaded as some other portions of the Duluth Traverse.
Moderately steep. Uneven terrain with small rocks or roots.
Sizable rocks & roots. Steep sections.
Steep. Some technical terrain and limited alternate lines.
Very steep. Technical terrain with no alternate lines.
