Overview

This route uses roads (paved and gravel), doubletrack, and easier singletrack to allow adveturous cross or gravel bike riders to take part in the 2016 Brown County Epic Mountain Bike Festival (Oct 7th - 9th). The ride is on Oct 8th and has sags supporting the ride. Register at bikereg.com/brown-county-ep…

Need to Know

If you ride the route outside of the Epic Event, you'll need a Hoosier National Forest trail permit. A DNR off road cycling permit is needed for both the event and riding outside of the event.

Description

The route will be marked on Oct 8th for the event. Expect some rugged doubletrack and a lot of climbing. The route includes several difficult climbs, including the infamous McGowen Rd Climb. Do not under estimate the difficulty of this route. This is not a race and riders are welcome to cut the loop short if needed.

History & Background

This route connects Brown County State Park, Yellowwood State Forest, Hoosier National Forest and epic county gravel roads. All proceeds from the event support HMBA and allow HMBA to continue to build more trails.
