Description

Ride up from Coal Creek to the Braderick Creek/South Thompson saddle and choose whether to drop into Thompson Creek area or return to the car. A great small addition is to ride the South Thompson Trail #305 to the end of the singletrack and turn around.

To access this trail from the south, take Coal Basin Rd up from Redstone. The trailhead is at a washed out area on the right after a cattle guard. The trail from this side starts with a steep hike-a-bike but then mellows. Part way up, you'll come to an intersection in a meadow—take a left.

A little further on a signed intersection, take a right straight up a shale bluff. At the top of the high point is a pass and meadow; turn around for a ripping downhill or continue on for some more adventurous singletrack.

Horses have basically ruined most of this trail. Super rutted out. A few good spots, but even the descent is bumpy in a not fun way. Turds everywhere.
