A short but tough and beautiful trek.

Christopher Bare

Overview

This is the short course that Cat 3 racers will negotiate three times and Cat 1 racers negotiate following completion of the Signal Peak Challenge: 2016 Race (Long Loop).

Description

This loop begins much the same as the Signal Peak Challenge: 2016 Race (Long Loop). However, instead of turning right onto the logging road, continue straight along Meadow Creek Road. Follow this road down to the intersection with the Scout Camp singletrack trail.

Follow the trail up a robust climb with several small but technical creek crossings. The trail eventually intersects Meadow Creek Road. Turn right onto the road and follow it until it intersects Highway 15. Instead of turning right onto the singletrack, as is the case with the Signal Peak Challenge: 2016 Race (Long Loop), turn left onto the singletrack.

Follow the singletrack down until it eventually ends in the parking area. Congratulations, Jedi, you have completed the short loop for this robust but beautiful challenge. If you are racing Cat 3, rejoice in knowing you'll complete this two more times!
