A great downhill trail from Black Cap that ends at the Stick and Stones kiosk.

Description

This trail follows a ridgeline and, from the top, has several technical, rocky downhill sections. Continuing further, the trail has a few short climbs before continuing the general descent.

The trail is mostly all downhill toward the end and it can get pretty fast with lots of loose rocks and wet areas. Be careful of water bars and foot traffic.

Be aware, as you might see bikers climbing up to access Sidehill during the last small section of this trail.

Took this trail from sticks and stones to Red Tail. I will pedal up anything and have the fitness to do it. This trail was a prolonged hike-a-bike in sections due to the grade, tree litter and erosion. Lots of leaves and eroded sections would make we not want to blast down it the other way. It clearly sees very little traffic. Jun 28, 2018
