Craftsbury's best mix of challenging technical sections and smooth and flowy machine built trails.”
— Ida Sargent
This is the best of the growing singletrack trail network at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center and is a great mix of challenging technical sections with roots and rocks galore to super fast and flowy machine built sections with jumps and other obstacles to try. Paper maps at the start of the ride can guide riders on other ideas for shorter rides or specific terrain. Craftsbury has meals, lodging, food, and supplies located on site as well as a small bike shop offering rentals. Check in the Craftsbury Outdoor Center office located opposite from the parking lot and trail kiosk for more information. Craftsbury is located less than an hour from Kingdom Trails in East Burke, VT so a great option to connect for a weekend of riding.
Family Friendly: A pump track and beginner trails located nearby.
From the Craftsbury Outdoor Center parking lot, follow the yellow trail signs around the entire loop. The loop starts with the most technical trails including a few narrow bridges and rooty hand-built gnar and finishes with smooth and flowy fast riding on machine built trails. The first half of the ride is the most challenging so don't give up! Paper maps of the entire loop and the complete trail system are available at the trail kiosk as well as additional ideas for shorter loops. There are several drops and jumps on the sections of trail but easier routes bypassing them are always available with appropriate signage. This loop is primarily singletrack but there are several short doubletrack ski trail sections as well as additional ski trail crossings which provide bail out points throughout the ride.
