Crazy climbs. Too many soft spots and hoof prints. Better if I had a horse! A lot of fun creek crossings though. 4.9mi

Getting forecast...

I didn't post this ride, but I'm grateful to who did. I haven't had time to do a full ride but wanted to add some details at least. I rode from Walker Park to the "Finish" red stop marker on the map. Can't wait to explore more here... Walker Park to Woodland - find a good stream crossing then hit the trail as it runs up the side of the hill. Some roots and rocks on the way here. After you crest the hill it becomes a fast flowy dirt highway down to another stream crossing. And with a third and final stream crossing you come out by a playset on a mowed lawn. (this is slightly North of the GPX track. Woodland to Finish - coming from the playset you head south past the swim club parking lot and take left on a small trail head (before you get to the next drive). From here you're headed up the hill on a mixture of single track, rutted out jeep trail, and bridle trail. At the half way point you'll come to T insection. To the left you'll see double track that starts the HM to backbone trail. This ride goes to the right up the hill on a sometimes technical very steep ascent. I was hike a biking much of it. So HM to Backbone is a very fun addition/substitution you can make to this featured ride - very rocky some of the time. The section that starts North of Little Sewickley creek is a stead climb with some washed out sections but I enjoyed it. The descent down into Devil's hollow is probably the highlight of the route - good singletrack and a beautiful hollow. (also - start wearing blaze orange) Oct 13, 2016
