Update

A commonly used trail in Burton Creek to connect for longer rides.

Overview

Description

Ocelot Trail is one of the mass of trails in the Burton Creek State Park trail system. It connects intersection 13 to intersection 20. The trail is mostly an old fall line moto trail. It's an uphill grunt, but totally rideable. The trail flattens out at the top and meanders through the brush, ending at the Gold Trail - Burton Creek.

Ocelot is schedule to be re-routed this summer, 2017. Earlier in May, CA State Parks entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with TAMBA (Tahoe Area Mtn Bike Assoc.). The re-route was laid out last summer, and the State Park did its homework over winter. Once the snow melts off efforts will begin to create a more harmonious and environmentally sustainable trail. Lend a hand - contact TAMBA. May 26, 2017

Ocelot is currently being re-routed during late August and September, 2017. The new trail will have a much higher fun factor, and be environmentally sustainable (i.e., no more erosion trench after snow melt and thunder showers). Check out TAMBA's Facebook page, or website, TAMBA.org for more information. Come out, lend a hand, and have some fun. Aug 29, 2017

This review and description needs to be updated. I rode the newly rebuilt Ocelot trail today. It's now really fun for bikes and follows a much more mellow path up the hill instead of the old fall line path. It can be ridden as a climber or as a fun cross country descent. 7 hours ago
