If you're looking for roots, gnar, and challenging rock features. In Deep has you covered! Follow the level section of trail off of Blue Velvet
, where it splits, head up to the right for a root covered knoll that will require momentum to get through. On the other side is a smooth rock-roll with a good run-out. Just don't try to go too slow, as there is a depression at the top that can cradle your wheel.
From there, continue through the roots, bumps, and rock armoring through the fairly level section of trail. When you come to the next rock-roll get ready for what follows. Riders will starts with a small off-camber roll-in that feeds through a nest of polished roots. Staying left heads for the high-line down a steep face with a couple-of-foot drop at the bottom. Going right threads into a steep and narrow rock chute that wouldn't be too hard, except the bottom can suck your wheel into a groove if you miss the mark. Don't miss the mark! In Deep will soon cross over Blue Velvet
, but before it does, there's an off-camber rock and an optional skinny to add to the fun.
Head right for about 50 feet and look for In Deep to start again on the left. The singletrack eases back into things with a smooth rock-roll into an old-school wooden coaster before it proceeds to the next chute. If riders are looking for even more of a challenge, check out the Triple Hump rock-roll on the left. Otherwise, work you way down through the chunk for a rooty rock-armoured roll that makes a great photo op. The trail splits here, with Fatcrobat
heading right and In Deep turning left.
The next section levels out for a bit, but it's still heavy on the roots. There are a number of line choices spread throughout, and it can be fun to try and pick the best option as you roll through. The bumps, and even drops, through the roots get deeper as you roll along, so the trail will need plenty of focus and handling. Eventually, riders will work their way down to platformed rock slab that has two drop lines off the end, there's also an early roll-line on the left, but the run-out isn't great. The drops themselves, especially the left side, have smooth landings so it's possible to head into them fairly slow. The remainder of the trail passes by quickly along an old road-trace that passes Little Alder

where they intersect Expressway
