A few miles making a loop that includes Leaping Lizards, Y-Knot, and Black Trac.

Riden Fool

Overview

This ride will give a good sample of miles of various trails in the southern half of the ranch.

There are some challenging sections included, particularly Black Trac (BT), that many riders on longer loops sometimes skip on the way back to the trailhead.

Description

From the trailhead, go up the hill and left at Drop Zone to warm you up. Then, a climb out of the Upper Campground and onto a short section of Fat Chuck's Demise (FC) and veer left onto Grey's Way (GW), across the road onto Mini-Me (ME) and stay straight ahead after the Carpet Bridge onto Super Secret Switchback. This will get you to Water 1. Riders will often take a well deserved break here.

From here, go right, heading down the fence and then left onto Karaway (KW). This leads to Off The Lip (OL) at the road crossing. These two trails are sweet singletrack and some of the oldest trails on the ranch. Take the bail-out from Off The Lip (OL) onto Miracle Mile (MM) at the "HOME" sign.

Follow Miracle Mile (MM) for a bit, then go left onto Leapin' Lizards (LZ), which brings you back onto Miracle Mile (MM). Cross the pipeline cut and take another left onto Y-Knot (YK). This will bring you back to the fenceline on Miracle Mile (MM) again, then onto the road.

For the sheer masochism of it, steer right off the road onto Black Trac (BT), which includes some wood features, steep climbs, more wood features, and more steep climbs, crosses the road and goes downhill briskly, leading to a few traditional RHR features: The Grind, The Wall, and Reveille's Romp will keep your heart working before finishing up with Fofenique (FF) and Home Stretch that delivers you into the trailhead/parking area.
