A fun challenging trail in the SF east bay.

Description

This is a mostly singletrack multi-use, loop trail. Near the top, the trail weaves through a series of stunning sandstone crags and formations.

Start at the Laughlin Staging Area and ride the loop counter-clockwise. From the gate, you'll start the trail along an old ranch road through a valley, the hills aglow in greens. You then climb around 740 feet (and reach 1,380 feet) over the course of two miles near the summit.

The trail turns to singletrack as you are routed amid a crag-strewn wonderland that can be technically challenging for some. Pretty and hidden, this trail is a surprise. Then, for the best views, head down on the West Side Loop Trail back to Laughlin Rd.

Trail has TONS of cow prints that make it rough. Also the amount of rain we have received has carved deep ruts in many of the downhill trail sections.

Dry - Bumpy dirt fire road going up and pretty technical singletrack going down. Link it to the West Side Loop Trail for a loop.
