Linear singletrack flowing through the woods & grasslands adjacent to the Cedar River.

Electric Mountain Bikes Unknown

Features -none-

Family Friendly Ease of access with minimal intersections (decisions) and low level of difficulty with easy bail out opportunities along the entire length of the singletrack make this a good trail for families.

Bi-directional / two way traffic, horses prohibited, open unless flooded (all conditions).

Description

From the Fir Avenue parking area begin onto the Sac & Fox multi-modal trail. Not long after the trail turns east (approximately 50 feet past the trail counters) there will be an entrance to the singletrack on the left.

Flowing through the woods and grasslands adjacent to the Cedar River, this trail segment strives to create a trail experience rarely found in the area – a linear singletrack tied directly to existing park infrastructure (parking areas, picnic facilities, and other multi-modal trails with community connectivity).

The singletrack alignment mirrors the Cedar River, flowing nicely onto and off from the Sac & Fox multi-modal trail at the natural bends near the parking area and the bike pedestrian bridge / equestrian crossing. Once off the Sac & Fox, the singletrack trail has the opportunity to flow in and around a mix of trees and grasses, providing an immersion in nature experience just out of site of Otis Road and the Sac & Fox multi-modal trail.

Fun trail! Follows Cedar River. Would be great if it had a Bridge across the fishery island at the end to connect it to the Cedar Valley trail. 16mi

Utilities company has downed some trees and left them across the trail. LAMBA is not certain if they are complete with the work yet, stay tuned...

Horses are not permitted on the singletrack, however, crossing paths with equestrian friends using the multi-modal trail is likely... please use proper etiquette!
