While this obscure ride made up of county roads gets a lot of ORV/ATV traffic, it can be really fun given the right conditions. There are some fun, rocky, technical sections and a lot of climbing and descending along the way.
The road also takes you near the "ghost town" of Pilot and some other backwoods relics.
As there aren't many parking areas nearby, this ride is best ridden by connecting to paved roads on either end. This ride heads along county roads. You won't believe it out in the middle of the ride, but they surely are. This route is popular with off-roaders though I've never bumped into anyone on it while riding.
That said, conditions will vary from season to season. There are some big mud holes that are hard to skirt, but there are some really fun, rocky, steep sections that will test your technical abilities.
There is one section of the road that is deeply eroded that I call the Hog Troughs. While it's as sloppy as it sounds, it's also a lot of fun.
You can also connect over to Hollerwood Park from this area with a short ride on paved roads.
