A gentle but steady climb to connect the Galloping Goose - Illium Segment to Sawpit River Trail.

Description

This trail is an old dirt road that is closed to vehicles. The start can be accessed across the road from the end of Galloping Goose - Illium Segment. Look for a short section of dirt road. Head across the bridge and take a sharp left to a trail that follows the river.

Continue until it opens to a wide, rutted section. Continue through this section, and look for a trail on the right at the edge of the next section of cottonwoods. This is difficult to find - if you find yourself on a doubletrack through cottonwoods and see some campers and trailers you have missed it.

Follow a twisting, wooded singletrack that parallels the highway until it pops you out east of the DOT buildings. The trail ends behind the state road shop adjacent to Deep Creek Road.
