“A remote trail up in grizzly-country that ends at the CDT for some of the best wilderness vistas.”
— Matt Barnes
The first few miles are on an old road bed that feels like singletrack. The grade gets pretty steep as the real climbing begins towards the ridge and CDT. The trail is very loose and steep as it switchbacks.
Once on the ridge, you'll intersect the CDT. Alice Creek Trail ends here though you can ride right east or west on the CDT for some beautiful vistas. Heading west will take you through some very challenging technical sections and eventually gain the high point between Falls Creek and Alice Creek. From here the views of the Dearborn River Valley, Rocky Mountain Front, and Caribou Peak are epic. Big Sky country!
