You'll be riding past Mt. Elbert, the tallest peak in Colorado, which tops out at 14,440 ft.

Twin Lakes has a food truck & general store for supplies.

Description

Trail starts off at Third Parking area for Mt Elbert. Tons of parking and you pass by many dispersed camp sites coming into the dirt road. Trail is a bit of a climb for first couple miles with some loose rock but with relatively low hike-a-bike.

You'll have plenty of company on this route, with hikers attempting to hike Mt. Elbert, the highest peak in Colorado, as well as people taking in the sites at Twin Lakes.

This route is beautiful in the fall, especially around Twin Lakes where the fall colors reflect off the water.
